Jess and John's wedding was full of first for me. This rarely happens as I have been doing this for 15 years! They booked me through their planner Jordan of JM Weddings and Events. She told me they were laid back and hands off, so I didn't get a chance to chat with Jess till the week before the wedding! Jordan was not only the planner, she was a bridesmaid and the grooms sister! So it's safe to say, she wore a lot of hats. This was the second family wedding I have done with Jordan. I loved every minute of documenting both of these weddings and Jordan crushed it as a planner! They are all such wonderful people and a joy to be around! Next they played a prank on the groom for the first look and his brother/best man wore a wedding dress and pretended to be Jess! It was hilarious! After the real first look, these two said their vows privately to each other and the groom even wrote a song for the bride... which was just the sweetest! Then they got married outside, in December, in the evening! We lucked out and got a 60 degree day with a snowstorm happening the following day! Despite these challenges I am slightly obsessed with how the ceremony photos came out! I was able to be artsy and creative since there was no available light except my flash or the twinkling lights from the candles and bistro lights. I wish these two so much love and luck in life as they start their journey as husband and wife! Cheers to the happy couple!
